Hello Barrett. Have you heard any news on Jalen Hurd? Is he going to the NFL or to the Ohio State Buckeyes?

Barrett are you any relation to Steve Sallee? I went to school with Steve in Chattanooga and we played high school ball together. He was a great guy. Also, I wanted to commend you on your defense of the Vols regarding the preseason hype. Listened to your audio on that. You did a great job I thought on that. Reply to Nat at nhughesiii@yahoo.com

Your article on John Franklin III left out a MAJOR detail. Golson's move from ND was not the reason he transferred but rather the fact that he straight up punched a chick in a bar - on video. Seems you left that out and how Auburn doesn't much seem to care about that conduct either. Tell the story correctly and truthfully.

Barrett what is going on with Byron Cowart??I know we got another DC but DE True Freshman Marlon Davidson has been outplaying him. He's 6-3 277 lbs Do you think he needs to drop down to 265 lbs and maybe get a little more agile??I'm just curious as to why he's not starting out this year like I thought he would. One other thing..why didn't we get a chance to see DE Prince Tega Wanogho in the A-Day game??

So tired of your biased reporting ! How could you leave off Deion Jones from your SEC stars who will shine at the combine ? Deion is a freak athlete with elite speed(sideline to sideline) and great instincts who WILL shine at the combine ! He had as good a week as any linebacker (Mel Kiper) at the senior bowl. You are average at best as a sports writer, mainly because of your biased views and being stuck up Saban's butt !

As not only a football fan but a Gator fan I want to know what is your problem with Florida? You seem to be shining a light on every little problem the Gators have, and you ignore the fact that every team has problems like including Tennessee. For example, how Josh Dobbs and how his accuracy is not very good and yet you say he’s a “Heisman finalist” which by the way is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read I know it was bold predictions and you had to think of some interesting but it can’t be something that ridiculous to where it’s laughable. Also, you’ve mention several time the about how they were 2 late game breakdowns away from a SEC championship appearance. If they were good enough they would’ve won those games but they didn’t Florida and Oklahoma won because they were the better team. To quote Bill Parcells “You are what your record says you are”. The reason why they Tennessee was 8-4 is because that’s how good they were. The reason why Florida was 10-2 was cause that’s how good they were. You keep mentioning how the offense struggles towards the end of the year, well that’s because in the last 8 games when Treon Harris those teams were top 27 in total defense, and with a young offense like Florida, especially at the offensive line position you're going to struggle. They recruited a great class the reason why they were ranked at 12 was due to the fact that they had more JC players than most colleges, which hurts in the rankings but in reality it’s just as good because we got a kicker which we definitely needed, and running back with size and speed, what you need to realize and what really all of college football needs to realize is that it’s more than about star and rankings to recruit a player. Also you have seemed to question the defense which in all honesty really makes you an idiot. Mostly, because even when Florida went 4-8 in 2013 the still had the 5th ranked in total defense and 8th in yards per game. Yes, we lost players on defense, but Alabama lost more players on defense but yet no one questions them. Florida has had always been a strong defensive team for as long as I have watched them. Now for the offense yes we struggled due to lack of superstar power. Which is they got in the recruiting class, and as for the offensive line problems is the fact that they were young and inexperienced. They will improve, so stop being so hypercritical. And now our QB situation, this what frustrates me the most and a lot of other people that are Gator fans too. Yes it is a mess but that doesn’t mean it can’t work out, and it definitely doesn’t mean that we can’t be successful. If you watched the Super Bowl you can see that with no offense can still get you a win because defense wins championship. The reason why the Gators went to the SEC championship was because they had the best defense in the SEC east. The reason why Alabama beat Florida in SEC championship was because they had a better defense which is why they couldn’t score. The reason why Alabama beat Clemson was because they made enough stops on defense to do so. So if you’re going to be hypercritical about anything, do it about a team’s defense. Most people think Florida is heading the right directions and are only moving forward, but you seem to be the only one to think they are going backwards. I saw your article on the early SEC predictions and I almost cried from how much I laughed at the fact that you picked Tennessee not only to win the SEC east but the fact you think the Vols chances of making an appearance is higher than Alabama is just a joke. The fact that you picked them not only proved all your critics right that you are a huge bandwagon for the Vols but also not have any actual facts to back up your reasoning other than “…a fearsome, multidimensional ground attack…”. What is reason behind your pick? They barely got by Georgia losing Nick Chubb on the first play and having to change the entire game plan on the spot. They lost to Florida for 11 straight years. Doesn’t matter that they lost by one point they lost so until they actually beat Florida for your sake don’t pick them. They sure didn’t do better in recruiting. The fact that you’re going with a team that hasn’t done anything to prove they are ready to go to Atlanta and the fact that you think the game that will decide their fate will be against a team with a first year head coach (with no prior experience either) as well as a guy who we don’t know can recruit yet because he had the help of Nick Saban recruiting those defensive diamonds that Alabama has been blessed with over the years. And also a true freshman at QB who doesn’t have much competition to begin with. The fact that you didn’t chose last years division champion who is relevant to win the SEC this year with a guy who had practically turned this team around in only in a year and isn’t done yet and has proven he can recruit, is just the cherry on top of the sundae that is not only your hatred for Florida getting the best of you as well as being a big bandwagon for the Vols. So in conclusion I honestly think you need to get some perspective and realize you’re a writer for an entire conference and you need to have an unbiased opinion when writing these articles because even people that I know who read your articles one being a Tennessee fan and the other is a Kentucky fan both agree that you are being extremely unfair towards Florida. And I’m sure they are not the only ones and if you can’t come to the fact that Florida is a much better team than you think and the Vols aren’t maybe you should write for another conference where you aren’t so biased and maybe the all the criticism will stop. I understand that there will always be people who will disagree with you, I know that’s part of what you do but it’s getting to the point to where no one can take you seriously anymore including myself. I know this because I read the comments you need to be a little more fair towards everyone and stop only writing and saying good things about the teams you like. I’m done now.

A little too one-sided with the Florida article today (11/22). Could tell from your opening sentence. Calling the stadium that has otherwise been well-known for almost 25-years, "The Swamp." Maybe we should refer to you as "SEC" Lead Football Writer because there was more.

Make sure to bring up the "dead fish" stuff and fail to adequately explain what else Coach McElwain said. I heard the comments live. ALL the comments.

Make sure to re-hash the fact of Will Grier's suspension -- not to say anything about the appeal, but apparently just to throw another cheap jab at the Gators.

Florida does not need "style points" to make the play-offs. In my opinion, and that of over 2/3 all readers at the time this was sent, if they beat FSU and Alabama, without any style points, they are in the play-offs. Period.

Oh, and make sure to hype Notre Dame . . . THEY get your pass for "a litany of injuries [that] might be too difficult to overlook." I guess they get a pass for not having to win any sort of Conference Championship game against another Top-10 team too -- as most others (except maybe Clemson) have to do.

I won't even go (much) to where you seem to never miss any opportunity to diss every other SEC program while simultaneously pumping Alabama. LSU is "fraudulent" but more than a week ago you had already coronated Alabama a "definite lock" for the play-offs. Try selling that if they lose to Auburn next Saturday while trying to sell a 1-loss SEC Champion Florida team as unworthy.

    Hey Barrett,

As I am sure you have seen in the last few days, the picture of Trevor Boykin with the young ISU "kid captain" before the football game last weekend has gone viral. As a result of this, a TCU blogger has created a crowdfund to support Abby Faber and her family as they get by paying for Abby's medical expenses, some of which--including therapy treating her vision--are not covered by insurance. She also has orthopedic procedures on both legs coming up in the next 2-4 years.

I am writing to ask that the B/R community, whether it be you or another writer, post an article promoting the crowd fund for young Abby in the hopes that we can help her and her family as much as we can. The fund is circulating around TCU now, but with how viral the picture originally went who knows how far the crowd fund may go if it goes viral as well.

    Thank you for the consideration,
