Hey, I thought Roadblock was just awesome. Sasha and Charlotte had a really cool match. Glad that's over and now they can split up. OK, so now we are getting close to the Royal Rumble. Do you have a pick for that match? I will pick Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt as my favorites to win, but I think anything can happen this time. Kind of hard to pick a favorite or a winner right now. Maybe Goldberg wins it, or Glenn :)
I was not really into Roadblock as I'd like, but the tag team and Women's match generated the most interest and were quite fine. I am so glad cry baby banks, got a real reason to cry after the absolute DOMINATION by Charlotte. TORTURE!!!! This year unlike previous years, WWE has a chance to be extremely unpredictable. There are a few predictable aspects, in that we know Seth has Triple H lined up and Lesnar has Goldberg, so they likely won't win the Rumble unless they do a CM Punk-Rock thing and have them main event Wrestlemania. Otherwise, it's unpredictable. Randy and Bray are likely to feud, but it would be nice if that is prolonged. Bray (I think an awesome scenario is if Bray, Randy, Luke and Strowman come down to the end, and they all eliminate themselves for the Eater of Worlds! If not that route, Cesaro, The Miz, Corbin, Apollo Crews will be a huge shock factor, but the fans would turn on him like they did Reigns because of how green he is.
Maybe Sami Zayn and Cesaro?
Hey Santaflow... I did seeee I did seeeeeeeeee :) Sorry for my delay, I had replied, but my account was glitched and it didn't post;. TLC was brilliant, I loved the chairs match myself. I was not at home, but my mom sent me a recording of my baby brother during the match. He is a huge Kalisto fan, and he was on the edge of his seat, marking out and jumping all over the place. It was so cute haha. The ending, he was like YES YES YES YES OHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! You know, WWE is PG, I get that, but they really don't give the kids much. I get Baron had to win, but the next show, he jobbed again to Corbin. Kids love characters and I feel like WWE doesn't grant them that. I think kids need more like that.
I loved the tables match. I think the way they avoided using it, made it feel more deadly. On the other hand, they should have used some more spots, like opening the table, putting your opponent on it and then going for a cross body etc. Otherwise, it delivered and I am glad Becky won. I think you need to change your attitude, and develop some more Mattitude. Alexa Bliss is awesome and one of my favorite wrestlers! I really like her Evenflow, I think she represents everything we need in a champion. She has the charisma, the tools, the character, and I love the make-up and how she changes her look from time to time. I also love how bratty she is, and the cry baby taunt she does. She reminds me of myself haha. I am in bliss!
Nerdsworth, oh for the love of god, I seriously can't stand him. I am glad he wasn't on the last Smackdown (I can't recall seeing him lol) and I hope thats it. Take him off, we will be willing to conveniently forget about him lol. I should be happier than I was that he cost Ambrose the title, unfortunately yeah, he ruined the main event, and he has ruined Smackdown. I had hoped he kayfabe died after Strowman killed him. You ready for Roadblock?
I am a NY Giants fan. Hope the Cowboys next loss is in the playoffs! lol I wish Sasha keeps the title for awhile or losing to someone not named Charlotte.. I am tired of the trading it, no one else getting a chance to win it.
It's impossible for me to pick Flow. I subscribe to Stardom World for about a year now, which they are the stars, and all three are incredible. Io Shirai (the final one) is the best in-ring worker, but then Kairi Hojo (The first one facing Pentagon) is also one of the best workers in the business. Mayu Iwatani (the middle one) could honestly go into the cruiserweight division on WWE tomorrow, she's a fantastic high flyer.
I'm really happy they have finally been able to get some exposure in the west, and absolutely killed it. They really are arguably the best three female workers in the world right now. Io Shirai and Kairi Hojo were offered WWE contracts a month ago, but think they will stay in Stardom, because their departure could really hurt that company.
yess i am
Yes Conor definitely is legit man. You're right about him being the first to have 2 titles at the same time, but he needs to defend the featherweight title soon. He hasn't defended it in about a year lol. I would also like to see him fight Aldo, but right now Aldo said he's thinking of retiring etc so who knows. As for the lightweight belt well I'm a huge Diaz fan so I want to see their 3rd fight, but right now I think he should fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. Not sure if you're familiar with him or not but he's an absolute beast. He's 24-0 and has one of the most dominant ground and pound games in history. I honestly think they're gonna try and avoid making that fight though lol.
Seeing Conor in WWE would be great. It would be way better then the time they brought Floyd Mayweather. Conor has so much charisma I think he would instantly be face; although he did talk smack about wrestling so who knows lol. McGregor vs Strowman would be a hilarious matchup. Maybe they'll do McGregor and Cena since McGregor has already talked smack to Cena before.
What's up Evenflow. I just got word that UFC 211 will be taking place in Buffalo so I might finally get my chance to see the UFC live. I'm just gonna wait to see who's on the card first. Also did you watch UFC205? Man Conor is the real deal. Although there are some fighters who I think could beat him. I guess HHH wants to sign Conor lol that would be sweet.
As for Lesnar and Goldberg I also see Lesnar winning the match. Goldberg doesn't have any other appearances scheduled so it wouldn't make sense for him to be the one to finally conquer the "beast". I just hope the match is good. Hopefully both guys have been doing cardio lol. Either way I'm pumped for Sunday man. Can't wait!
Hey Evenflow, if you got time I'm putting together a Bleacher Report Comments Section Wrestling Awards. I’ve put together a selection of categories so people can choose their favourites and least favourites from this year of wrestling.
Would be great to see what your picks are (and any additional awards you wish to include). If enough people provide their answers, I'd like to tally them up and have an ultimate winner for each category to be announced later.
Keep picks to one, no more than two if you can't decide! Write your answers on my board so I can keep track, I've filled out my answers for each category to give you an idea.
BR Wrestling Awards 2016
The Macho Man Award (MVP of wrestling) - AJ Styles
The Sami Zayn award (NXT MVP) – Asuka
Non-WWE MVP – Io Shirai
Match of the year - Final Deletion
Best weekly wrestling show - The Cruiserweight Classic
Best babyface(s) – Mayu Iwatani (like the human-form of Bambi, impossible not to root for but also a phenomenal wrestler) / Becky Lynch (Great wrestling, great promos, great heart – everything a babyface should be)
Best heel(s) – Samoa Joe/Charlotte
The Arn Anderson award (Best in-ring) – AJ Styles/Io Shirai
Best talker – Samoa Joe
Most improved - Charlotte
Tag team of the year – The Revival
Feud of the year - Broken Matt Hardy vs. Brother Nero
Gimmick of the year – Broken Matt Hardy
The Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson circa 1999 award i.e. miracle worker of the year (turned creative garbage into gold) – Dean Ambrose. Not my favourite wrestler by any means but was given nothing but terrible stuff (like plants and a uninterested Brock Lesnar) and was able to get it over. Booked awfully but stayed afloat and with the crowd behind him (a lesser performer would have been dead in the water), and apparently had a huge part in the creative process around James Ellsworth. So big credit to the guy. Job well-done.
Wooden spoon award (worst performer) – Titus O’Neil (he’s like a real-life Larry David in his awkwardness)
Best PPV of the year – Backlash/NXT Dallas.
Worst PPV of the year – Wrestlemania
Worst babyface – Roman Reigns. A top guy push that failed like none before it
Worst heel – Triple H (stop portraying yourself as the top heel in the company if you’re never going to be there!)
Best non-wrestling segment – Daniel Bryan’s retirement.
Worst non-wrestling segment – The Rock’s ego marathon at Mania.
The Fandango/Summer Rae award, i.e. most underutilized – Fandango and Summer Rae.
Biggest fall from grace – Paige, sadly
Worst part of WWE – Stephanie McMahon. Needs to just go away.
Best face turn – Heath Slater
Best heel turn – Seth coming back from injury to a huge babyface pop only to remain heel
Phoenix rising award (coming back from booking oblivion) – Dean Ambrose. Booked to be the fall guy in the never-ending Roman push for so long, and then booed as champion. Thankfully the brand split saved him over time.
Best booking decision – Brand Split/ Hiring AJ Styles
Worst booking decision – The face turn of Rollins has been terrible, and incomplete.
Stalling for Triple H vs Rollins till Mania has been a huge mistake.
Biggest creative success – The Miz/Ziggler feud
Biggest creative disappointment – Continual push of Roman as the top guy of Raw/ his lack of heel turn
Favourite debut – Nakamura
Largest discrepancy between creative’s intentions and my interpretations – Rusev has always been a face in my eyes.
Best champ – Becky Lynch
Worst champ – Roman Reigns
Hero of the year – Daniel Bryan for that retirement speech and being a real voice for the fans as GM
Villain of the year – injuries
Most overrated this year – Bobby Roode.
Most underrated this year – Andrade "Cien" Almas.
Most underwhelming moment – Shield triple threat
Best 'I thought this would be terrible but was really great' match – The whole of the Cruiserweight Classic.
Best rookie year of an NXT alumni on the main roster – Alexa Bliss
Best mic work - The Miz and Ziggler during their feud.
Worst botch: Unfortunately, pretty much every Mick Foley promo.
WTF moment of the year: Paige’s self-implosion/ Shaq and Tatanka being in the Andre the Giant Battle Royale.
Most irritating moment: WWE 24 Women’s Evolution documentary or as it should be referred to ‘the continuing false narrative that the Bellas and Stephanie McMahon in anyway started a woman’s wrestling revolution in WWE’
Non-WWE star that should be in WWE: Kairi Hojo
Eva Marie vs Ellsworth would be entertaining! I wanted the Boss to hold the title much longer. Wish Sasha was on SDL instead of RAW.
