Hey, you like sports? I also like sports. That's why we're here, I suppose.

Let's be friends.

As a sports fan, I am fluent in the suffering and cynicism of rooting for the New York Mets, Knicks, and Rangers, though the Giants have definitely broken that trend in recent years.

For all this losing, however, I am not a cynic. Whether I am deluding myself about my own teams or appreciating an up and coming team from across the country, following sports is too much fun for me to be anything but optimistic.

I like young guns and veteran savvy. I like players who act like they've been there before but never lose that childlike joy in the moment, with a flair for the creative and a penchant for physicality.

I also like it when my teams win, but let's not split hairs here.

If you want to keep up with me or follow my own bizarre ramblings, I'm on Twitter @arealjoshcohen.

And if you have any questions/comments/concerns/feel like talking about anything, hit me up at It could be as levelheaded or insane as you'd like, but I'd love to hear from all of you out there.

After all, we're friends now.

Write an article on should New York Knicks trade Andrea Bargnani? I would enjoy reading that.

You awake'd my soul with your Knicks coverage. The "After the Storm" article about the Knicks after the countdown episode really dissected the thistle & weeds of Jalen Rose's coverage. Also, I was a big fan of the where are you now aspect of the greatest NBA players who never were. I think Jonathan is right that you do wander hopelessly from time to time in your articles but, let's face it, your expertise is the Knicks and you can babel with the best of them in that arena. As for the Knicks this season, lets just say, we will wait.

    Hey Josh,

Gotta say, your Leafs coverage has been fairly shoddy man. I know it was probably assigned, but your Luongo proposals were beyond stupid (Vancouver wouldn't even start the bargaining at those prices!). Now this Leafs article about the alumni games (by the way, there are TWO alumni GAMES) was laced with errors. First off, you got the picture wrong for the best Leaf of all time, what were you thinking? Next, the Leafs don't retire numbers. Finally, the list itself is comprised mainly of players who have already confirmed they will play, so what purpose did it serve?? I don't mind more people writing about the Leafs, but my God, at least do some research on your topic. Otherwise it just seems like you're churning out half-assed articles and bringing the quality of content down on the Leafs page.

Sorry for the tough words, but they need to be said.

I read your article about 5 ways for the Leafs to get Luongo and I gotta ask, what were you thinking?? Lupul, Bozak, Kadri, Blacker, Scrivens and two first-rounders for Luongo seems crazy... maybe Kessler, Burrows and Luo for that lol. There is over 20K of posts regarding discussion on Luo and 99% think Bozak+Kadri+a top 5 protected 2013 1st is about right.

Hey Josh, your article about Baseball needing to adapt was great and deserves far more attention than it has received. Keep up the awesome writing fellow B/R intern!

Hey Josh, thanks for becoming a fan! I really enjoyed your recent piece about the Devils as well. I'm from LA so I'm rooting for the Kings, but hope the Devils can keep it competitive. Thanks!
