Hi Jimmy. In terms of older left-backs I'd suggest Aleksandar Kolarov or Nacho Monreal from the PL, perhaps Oscar Wendt from further afield, even Ashley Cole if he's up for it. Otherwise, I'd love to see a new RCB, a goalscoring creative midfielder, a defensive midfielder and of course a centre-forward signed this summer. Thanks for the kind words!

If Aspas is off and we get Borini back, I would think we'll be ok without buying a new centre-forward as long as the wide forward can play there too (such as AG again). We won't have 4 centre-forwards if we play 4-3-3 quite often. I like Kono but haven't seen enough to say "he's the one" .... or isn't. Ibe could get more loan time, Suso should be part of our squad, Teixeira still has work to do anyway so could be a loan there too. CBs... Richards, Musacchio, Howedes would all be fine for me!

Heya Jimmy, sorry for late reply, hadn't seen your message. I still think they'll need one, but probably one who can also play the b-to-b role in the middle. Not necessarily an attacking player, but certainly one who can provide protection for Gerrard and aid quick transition plays. Someone like a Lars Bender would be excellent in that regard, and can play at DM no problem when required. Elsewhere we need a left-back, centre-back, right-back if Johnson is off, and another wide forward, preferably one who can play centrally when needed. Antoine Griezmann would be absolutely perfect for us IMO. If we got those in, we'll have had a decent summer.

    Hi Jimmy,

Very sorry for delay on response. I've been in Paris this week for the Champs Lge action, mental.

Coutinho in a flatter, deeper 4-3-3 has its pros and cons. It's an interesting subject.

On the one hand, as you say, he can get on the ball more and release attacks quicker with his ridiculous passing skills. On the other, he is passing in deeper positions like he's a No. 10 still—ie. risky passing.

This can put Liverpool in trouble as they play out.
He doesn't have the physicality to play the prototypical role, but he makes up for it, in part, but being very aggressive and winding players up. I didn't know he had that side to his game.

I wouldn't classify him as a suffoco. Suffocos are No. 10s who are disrupting first and creating second; Phil is playing as a flat CM.

Thanks for reading mate. I've no doubt Suso would thrive at Villa and it could be a match made in heaven.

However, Lambert doesn't do loans on a short-term basis as far as i'm aware, particularly in such a critical position. It's the reason we didn't go for Lukaku on loan when he went to WBA!
