Hey Jay! I think if Jones falls that far Cincinnati will take him. It's worth the risk, especially with two second-round picks. Johnson, Dunlap, Atkins and Jones would cause some real problems for offenses.

Going to the University of South Carolina myself, I love Lattimore. But even though he says he believes he'll be ready for Week 1 this season, no team would let him play that early. He's going to have to sit out at least half of the season and very likely even the entire season as teams will want to take every precaution to make sure he's 100% and doesn't get hurt again before he takes the field in a real game. He truly is a special player and has the talent to be one of the best in the league, as long as he's healthy.

That being said, I view him as more of a project player (for health reasons, obviously). So I think he would be good for a team that is rebuilding and is still a year or two away. Considering the Bengals are in a situation where they are nearing the top of their Division and ready to win right now as soon as they acquire a few extra pieces (RB, LB, S, etc.), i'm not sure it would be in their best interests to choose Lattimore as early as the third round. They need a guy who can come in and play immediately and help them win right away.

I hate to say it because I go to school with him, I cheered for him live at every home game on Saturdays, and even talked to him a few times when we were next-door neighbors my sophomore year (he's the nicest guy, by the way)... but I think the Bengals should pass. Like I said, I think they need someone who's healthy and ready to go ASAP. If he could be had in the 4th round, i'd be more open to it. I just think the 3rd would be a little too early, they could really use those picks on other instant contributors, because they really are so close to going on a deep playoff run.
