I'm a 2011 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Electronic Media Journalism. So yes, I'm more trained at this than most.

Despite what my degree says, I still consider myself a Boilermaker at heart, since I grew up in the shadow of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. It's for that reason that I was once a B/R Featured Columnist for Purdue basketball.

I'm now an FC again, covering as much of the nation as they'll let me. For even more on college basketball, check out The Back Iron (, home of the exclusive Back Iron Index, which attempts to dig up the real best 68 teams in America.

For two-plus years, I produced and hosted broadcasts on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville, one of the nation's most popular sports-talk radio stations. Those included live broadcasts of basketball games for both the University of Tennessee and the Belmont Bruins. In addition, I spent two seasons as a reporter for Titans Radio, covering the Tennessee Titans.

Follow me on Twitter @4QuartersRadio and enjoy hours (many, many hours) of excellently eclectic music by searching me on Spotify and checking out the 4QRchive series.

I'm always down to discuss ball on Twitter or in my comment threads. But, one warning to all the trolls out there: I troll right back. Hard. Come at me with pitchforks drawn, watch out for the cattle prod.

The National Collegiate Student Section Association is an organization focused on enhancing and improving the collegiate student fan experience across the nation. It is our goal to bring student section leaders together to collaborate and build a stronger collegiate atmosphere while utilizing integrity and sportsmanship.

We want to unite a nation of student sections. One of the ways that we will do this is through our First Annual NCSSA National Convention. At that convention, we will be building a community that can address the issues faced amongst student-fans, including how to increase student attendance at all athletic events. We want each participant to walkaway with the knowledge and tools to not only make their student section the best that it can possibly be, but also to have a huge impact on their respective campuses.

Some of the workshops that will be lead at the conference are social media, leadership strategies, problems facing different sizes of schools, intraconference issues, and sportsmanship. The conference will take place over the course of four days in the middle of June.

This is the first time that student sections from across the national and from different NCAA conferences will all come together in the same room, and we believe that the amount of positive change that can stem from this convention can change the landscape of collegiate athletics.

Scott........enjoyed the "most disastrous coach" article. I would submit, however, that Wade's tenure at Maryland was by far and away THE quintessential disaster. Taking a top tier program and bringing it back down to pre-1969 status was a real work of art. Bob couldn't make the transistion to college and it was apparent from day one. Also, Ruth over Mays.......that's too easy.

Excellent article on Sun Belt Football 2010 Preview: Ranking The Linebackers. Impressive data wriiten on Demario Davis for the Arkansas State Red Wolves. Was present at the Auburn game tonight (9/4/10), and noticed Davis only played Special Teams and the last 2-3 minutes of the game. He made some great tackles in spite of the few minutes on the field. Wonder whats going on here?
