A huge baseball fan, particularly of the Atlanta Braves. Fell in love with baseball through the 1975 World Series. Favorite players: Christy Mathewson, Carl Hubbell, Sandy Koufax, Tony Perez, Hank Aaron, Dale Murphy, Rafael Belliard, Steve Avery, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux.

My dream retirement is to get back to being by the ocean and to spend my last days with my wife on the beach, body boarding at high tide, eating fresh seafood and watching the Braves on TV.

The home run record is quite possibly the most sacred record in all of sports. Thirty-five years ago today, Hank Aaron overtook Babe Ruth for sole possession of the home run record, doing so without the aid of any performance-enhancing drugs.

Since that day, the record has been broken by Barry Bonds, in what has been a controversial process for the game of baseball. I thought I would pay a tribute to Aaron, one of the greatest baseball players who ever lived, and as classy of a man as they get.

Thanks for your comment. I think Chipper is a first ballot Hall of Famer, but with Dale Murphy not in, I don't know what to think. I'm hoping for a better year from the Braves than the last few.

Abner, thanks for commenting on my Braves article yesterday. Now there's a rude NYer who commented on the article and trashed the Braves. Should I just ignore him? :-(

hey man thanks for the comment. as for your question, i think no doubt that if the yanks dont make the postseason this year, the guy is canned. of course this depends on who the yanks reel in this offseason, but none the less, if the yanks dont make it, girardi is toast
