I always have to tell people that I am NOT a sports fan. However, I am a college football fan!

Just what does that mean? Well, it means I don't really care about sports in-general. Sure, I watch SportsCenter like everyone else, but if it's not college football, then I can only get so excited about it.

I currently live in Texas. I grew up in a family of Texas Aggies and have always followed A&M on the gridiron. However, my passion for college football trancends any one team. I can watch just about any college football game, no matter what schools are playing (if you don't believe me, just ask my wife).

It has been my experience that most fans watch the ranked teams and big match-ups. I watch those games too, of course; but I will watch any match-up with the same enthusiasm that others can only muster for the big Saturday night games.

I love picking games (for fun) against friends. If I am not working or spending time with my family, I am usually reading about some aspect of the game, trying to get an edge over my buddies.

I received two undergraduate degrees and my masters degree from Texas A&M University. I then worked for an NFL franchise before returning "home" to work in the Athletic Department at A&M. After several years at A&M, I left in order to open my own business which I successfully ran for about four years. Most recently, I moved to Houston in order to attend law school (from which I recently graduated).

In my spare time, I can be found doing all sorts of things. In terms of College Football, I started my own blog, I have written for others on their blogs, and I was even a podcast co-host at one point. I am also a voter for several major college football awards.

Outside of college football, I have many interests that range from reading, to history, to law, to cigars, to travel, and to many other topics. I don't usually come across a subject that I find completely boring (except for baseball). My broad spectrum of interests is what causes me to enjoy writing so much. However, I can't really claim to be a "good" or "decent" writer; but I do enjoy trying to be.

Speaking of "trying to be a good writer;" that is why I am on b/r. As most of you already know, b/r is a great site with lots of interesting user-created content. It is a great platform from which someone can be a "columnist" and write about the sports they really enjoy. I have found it to be a great way for me to further enjoy college football, while also serving as a way for me to try and improve my writing style and technique.

I hope that you find my writing enjoyable, interesting, informative, different, entertaining, or all of the above!

PSS - I wanted to note that I am pro-BCS and anti-playoff. I know, I am probably the only person (besides the BCS Commissioner) who feels this way, but I figured I should lay it out there. I plan on writing more about this in the future, and making a case for why the BCS is a better system, so until then, I will spare you the details.
