Arsenal Transfer News: Going Retro While Cesc Fabregas Goes Nowhere

Afternoon all. Sorry about the lack of articles over the last two weeks. Due to a family bereavement and having to prepare for an important interview, I've been unable to find the time necessary to write here.

Luckily though, the Arsenal did me a favour, by doing nothing at all newsworthy in that time. However, no sooner than my life returns to some sense of normality, do we get some news to get our teeth into.

First on the menu, is of course this....

Arsenal new kit

Thanks to @footballshirt  for that picture. As much as I slated Nike for that atrocious Away kit they've foisted on us this year, I can't praise them enough for this effort.

We're never going to go back to having no sponsor and only the cannon on the shirt, so this is probably as close as we'll get to that. It just looks right, for some reason, in the same way that rhubarb and custard away kit looks wrong. Definitely going to get one. Am I vain enough though to put my own name on the back of it? Hmmmm...

In other news, Cesc was interviewed yesterday and when asked about his future, replied "I haven't said that I will definitely leave Arsenal."

Now I don't know about you, but that sounds like a man who knows where he'll be playing next season.

We all know that his dream is to play under Pep Guardiola at Barca, but we also know that he's loved every minute of his career at Arsenal. He knows that if it wasn't for Arsenal, he wouldn't be in the position he's in today, that of being the best young midfielder in the world.

So he's not going to leave unless it suits Arsenal as well as himself. He'll do everything in his power to make sure everyone comes out of this transfer happy, so upsetting Arsenal in order to force his way out will be the last thing he'll want to do.

And if he's still here in August, then it won't be a disappointment for him. So that quote of his, in my opinion, is the first of many we'll hear from him saying how much he loves playing here and that leaving won't be easy when that time comes. Because I reckon he knows he's staying at Arsenal this year.

Till the next time readers.
