"Who is the better golfer?

Quinn: Definitely him. Derek plays way more than me. I'm more of weight-room guy and he's more of a golf guy.

Speaking of workouts, a lot of quarterbacks are not hardcore weight-room guys. Why is the weight room such an important part of your regimen?

Brady Quinn: Well, it's a few things. Looking at my past, it was something that allowed me to propel to start when I was a freshman coming in at Notre Dame, as well as giving me an advantage in high school. Then as I've gotten to the NFL I noticed guys become limited by injuries, and a lot of injuries happen because guys don't take care of their bodies. So I've always prided myself on hard work and that's just extended into the weight room. It's something where, not only do I enjoy it, but I feel like it gives me an advantage over everyone else, because I work so much harder there and do the little things."

Here is a Q&A with Brady Quinn, and the same theme is cropping up everytime. Brady Quinn is a workout warrior in the gyms. My question is whether lifting weights is ideal for a QB ?

Brady Quinn is really concerned about his arm strength and he s doing a lot to improve it, its commendable. BUT lifting weights is mainly for the power positions like DL, OL and even the RBs.

Will weights workout improve Brady Quinn's arm strength? Or will it improve his standings on the cover of magazines?

Other tidbits:

4. Quinn must lead the team in running laps for committing penalties or mistakes. If nothing else, he's leading on the days open to media.

And then Mangini gives Quinn a shoulder to cry on

Browns coach Eric Mangini gave quarterback Brady Quinn a slight edge heading into voluntary practices last month, but neither Quinn nor Derek Anderson will have an advantage heading into training camp Aug. 1.

"That was based on the off-season program leading up to that point," said Mangini at the conclusion of mandatory minicamp Saturday, signaling with a level hand that the competition was essentially even.
