Yes, fall practice has only just begun, but it's never too early to start looking at which players' stocks are rising and falling.
Fans obviously know that Devin Gardner's stock is through the roof, so I'm mainly going to focus on injured players who are trying to make a comeback.
Those are some of the most important players to keep an eye on anyway.
There's no question that Toussaint's stock is through the roof right now.
Last year's gruesome leg injury in November has healed at an incredible rate, and there is no doubt he'll be ready by the season opener.
The real question is whether or not he can hold onto his starting job. Derrick Green is right on his heels, and Toussaint will have to perform spectacularly if he plans to beat him out.
Now a fifth-year senior, Toussaint certainly realizes that this is his last go-round, and will want to make the most of it.
I've got a feeling things will work out alright for Fitz.
Like Toussaint, there's no question that Blake Countess' stock is incredibly high right now.
His torn ACL occurred in the season opener against Alabama last year, so he has had more time to recover than Toussaint had.
Sure, they were different injuries, but both were very serious.
Countess' career at Michigan is still relatively young, so he has plenty to prove going forward. Fortunately, the ceiling couldn't be any higher for this young man.
Assuming he returns to his old form before the injury, he could be in store for All-Big Ten honors.
All-American honors could be in store down the road as well.
Some may wonder how Jake Ryan's stock can possibly be "up." It's simple; ever since he tore his ACL in the spring, there has been nothing but good news regarding the injury.
His rehab is progressing at an amazingly fast rate, so much so that he is expected back in mid-October.
Michigan's schedule sets up perfectly for his return, as the team plays Indiana on Oct. 19 and then has a bye week before facing Michigan State in the beginning of November.
Will Ryan see some action against Indiana, or should he be held out and make his debut against State? Only time will tell.
There's no doubt that Ryan's perseverance and work ethic has played a role in his accelerated recovery, as most players wouldn't have progressed this fast.
I didn't list anybody whose stock is "down", but honestly I wouldn't know who to list.
There has been nothing but positive buzz surrounding Ann Arbor this offseason, and it would be hard to pick out a single player.
Others returning from injury include Chris Bryant and Chris Wormley; I didn't include a slide for them because neither is projected to start.
Still, both should play roles as they recover from last year's missed season.
As already mentioned, Countess and Toussaint should be all set to go immediately, while Ryan should hopefully return in October sometime.
It will be very interesting to see how these three young men perform.
