According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls are having exploratory discussions on the foundation of a deal that would send Andrea Bargnani to the Bulls in exchange for Carlos Boozer.

With rumors swirling around Bargnani for weeks now, and with the Raptors apparently in win-now mode, the Raptors are starting to really show fans a renewed attitude for winning, and doing so quickly.

Aside from the aforementioned Boozer and Bargnani, for a deal to work the Raptors would have to include Landry Fields to balance the salaries. Expect with Derrick Rose returning that the Raptors may opt to include both John Lucas III and Aaron Gray in the deal in order to land backup point guard Kirk Hinrich.

With Lakers power forward Pau Gasol down a minimum of 6-8 weeks with a torn plantar fascia, the Raptors are now exploring alternative power forward options and have arrived at Carlos Boozer.

Now, adding Boozer—a perennial double double threat to further help out Toronto's offensive attack looks like a great move on paper, you may be looking at problems though after the season.

With Rudy Gay and Boozer both owed upwards of $16+ million the next two seasons, how can the Raptors afford a player like this.

Boozer's massive contract expires at the same time as Gay's, but luckily for the Raptors, Boozer, 31, will likely be on the descent of his wonderful career, while Gay will be in the middle of his prime.

General Manager Bryan Colangelo hinted that Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment were a company that was willing to pay luxury taxes, "if the right deal came along."

The question at the end of the day could be, is this the right deal for the Raptors?
